What is Evade?
Evade is a ranked matchmaking platform for Dota 2 Turbo. You sign in with Steam, queue alone or with a party, and get placed into a balanced ten-player game in a private Dota 2 lobby. Every result moves your Turbo-only Elo rating, which sets your level and your place on the public leaderboard.
Is Evade free to play?
Yes. Ranked matchmaking, the leaderboard, ladders, clans, teams and tournaments are free. Evade Premium is an optional monthly membership that adds profile and shop extras and a Premium-only solo queue. Premium never changes your Elo or how match results are checked.
How does Turbo Elo work on Evade?
Every account starts at 1,000 Elo. An even match moves 25 points. Beating a stronger team pays more, up to 47, and losing to one costs less. The change is worked out from the two teams' average ratings, so all five players on a side move by the same amount. Kills and other personal stats never affect the rating.
What are the ten levels?
Elo places every player on one of 10 levels, from Thorn (level 1) to Ethereal (level 10). Level 1 is a wide band so one bad night does not drop a new player, levels 2 to 9 are 150 Elo wide, and level 10 has no ceiling. New players start at level 3, Ember.
| Level | Name | Elo |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Thorn | 100 to 800 |
| 2 | Stone | 801 to 950 |
| 3 | Ember | 951 to 1,100 |
| 4 | Gale | 1,101 to 1,250 |
| 5 | Tide | 1,251 to 1,400 |
| 6 | Void | 1,401 to 1,550 |
| 7 | Arcane | 1,551 to 1,700 |
| 8 | Celestial | 1,701 to 1,850 |
| 9 | Infernal | 1,851 to 2,000 |
| 10 | Ethereal | 2,001+ |
What is Challenger?
Challenger is a standing above level 10. It belongs to the top 1,000 players on the global leaderboard who have also reached level 10. It is earned and lost by rank rather than by Elo alone, and the number shown beside it is the player’s global rank.
How are teams balanced?
When ten players are found, the matchmaker splits them into Radiant and Dire so the two teams’ total Elo is as close as possible, placing the highest-rated players first. The match is then played in a private Dota 2 lobby, so only the ten matched players can join.
How are match results verified?
Results are not self-reported. When the game ends, Evade reads the finished match from Dota 2’s public match data, which comes from Valve’s own records, and checks the players against the lobby before any rating changes. Claiming a win you did not play cannot move your Elo.
What happens if a player leaves a match?
Evade uses Valve’s own leaver status. A player who abandons loses double the normal amount, or gains only half if their team wins anyway. Teammates who stay and lose four against five lose only half. A short disconnect that reconnects is not counted as leaving.
Which regions does Evade support?
Evade matches players in five regions: Europe West, Europe East, US East, US West and Southeast Asia. The leaderboard can be filtered by region and country.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. You can queue as a party of up to five, find teammates on the Party Finder, join a clan with its own queue and leaderboard, or build a team and enter tournaments together.
Is it safe to sign in with Steam?
Sign-in uses Steam’s official sign-in page, so your password is typed on Steam, never on Evade. Evade reads only your Steam ID and display name. It cannot play, buy, trade or change anything on your Steam account.
Is Evade affiliated with Valve?
No. Evade is an independent community platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Dota 2 and Steam are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
